Bosc in Coconut Green Smoothie

Just because Green Smoothies are green, doesn’t mean they are gross! You can adjust any smoothie to your liking (sweetness, texture, etc.). This green smoothie is a good start for beginners or for those who want a morning/afternoon pick-me-up. It’s so good you won’t even care that it’s green. The coconut water is especially good in this smoothie because, in addition to the pear, it adds sweetness.

If you are thinking your blender isn’t good enough, let me stop you right there! When I started drinking these, I had an everyday blender- not a fancy one. And guess what? I still don’t own the “best of the best”. But no excuses! I have instructions for both types of blenders below.

  • 1 Bosc Pear (brown)
  • 3 curly kale leaves
  • 2 handfuls spinach
  • 1-2 inch piece ginger, peeled
  • ¼ cup coconut water
  • ¼ cup water, or more coconut water
  • 4 frozen coconut chunks, optional

If using a high quality blender (such as a vitamix or ninja): Add all of the ingredients and blend until smooth.

If using a not-so high quality blender (such as an oaster, etc.): Add the liquid base first then add the ingredients in one by one to ensure the smooth is as smooth as possible!
