Green-green smoothies everywhere, right?! For good reason! They are super good for you. You’re probably thinking that you already knew that. But you need to believe and try it to know what I’m really saying. Just because they are green, doesn’t mean they are gross! I promise! You can adjust the smoothie to your liking (sweetness, texture, etc.).
This green smoothie is a good start for beginners or for those who want an afternoon pick-me-up. It’s so good you won’t even care that it’s green. If you are thinking you blender isn’t good enough, let me stop you right there! When I started drinking these, I had an everyday blender- not a fancy one. And guess what? I still don’t own the best of the best. But no excuses! I have instructions for both types of blenders below.
Ingredients
- 1 cup water, or coconut water (see note 1)
- 5 romaine head leaves (see note 2)
- 1 green apple, peeled & chopped
- ½ cup frozen pineapple
- ½ cup frozen mango
Note1: Not everyone has coconut water in their refrigerator or likes the taste. No biggie! Just use water. Still tastes good. I’ve had this both ways.
Note2: If using a romaine heart (the 3 romaine hearts in a pack) then use about ½ of the romaine heart because 5 leaves probably won’t be enough!
Instructions
If using a high quality blender (such as a vitamix or ninja): Add all of the ingredients and blend until smooth.
If using a not-so high quality blender (such as an oaster, etc.): Add the liquid base first then add the ingredients in one by one to ensure the smooth is as smooth as possible!
