Green-green smoothies everywhere, right?! For good reason! They are super good for you. You’re probably thinking that you already knew that. But you need to believe and try it to know what I’m really saying. Just because they are green, doesn’t mean they are gross! I promise! You can adjust the smoothie to your liking.
This Green Smoothie was inspired by 2 main ingredients I grew up with: Mango and Cilantro. My mom always had fresh cilantro at home. Never, as child, she makes a smoothie with it. But the flavor is so fresh I had to try it. Cilantro also has nutrients like Fiber, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium and Potassium, to name a few. Who knew?!
- 1 cup water, or coconut water (see note 1)
- 1 orange, juiced
- 4 romaine head leaves (see note 2)
- 1 handful of baby spinach
- 2 fresh cilantro sprigs
- 1 cup frozen mango
Note1: Not everyone has coconut water in their refrigerator or likes the taste. No biggie! Just use water. Still tastes good. I’ve had this both ways.
Note2: If using a romaine heart (the 3 romaine hearts in a pack) then use about ½ of the romaine heart because 5 leaves probably won’t be enough!
If using a high quality blender (such as a vitamix or ninja): Add all of the ingredients and blend until smooth.
If using a not-so high quality blender (such as an oaster, etc.): Add the liquid base first then add the ingredients in one by one to ensure the smooth is as smooth as possible!
